The Notoriously Kia + Fashionlistically Speaking = Bloggers Collab

I love a sweet collaboration. And I was really excited to have the chance to work with the "curator of style" The Notorious Kia. I had the opportunity to create a custom portrait of her. This task was pretty easy. I'm always looking at bloggers for fashion insight and inspiration and I love her eclectic style. So here is the finish project. Tell me what you think!

Curves Hit the Runway During NYFW

EEK! I love NYFW and I love what I'm seeing for Spring 2015. Most important I love that we are seeing more diversity hitting the runway. Design house Chromat show featured fiercely real models. It's a great step for the fashion industry which usually cast models that are anywhere between a size two or four. To celebrate this I decided to create a fashion illustration featuring top plus model Denise Bidot. What was pretty cool was that she actually liked and comment.

Fall Trend Alert: Plaid

Okay, so we are weeks away from September. I just can't wait for fall, the layering, cool brisk air and oh yeah the fashion. One trend that will never go away is plaid. You can style plaid in many different ways. The wonderful part is that you can sport this trend at any different price point. With this illustration I decided to dress up the trend a bit with this plaid jacket from ASOS.

Because Pretty Girls Don't Pay Full Price

Saving can be sexy. Why pay full price when you don't have to. There are a lot of ways to find fabulous finds without breaking the bank. In most cases you can add a few extra bucks back in to your wallet. I complied a few finds that I recently discovered.

1. Rue La La:
Shop for top brands in different departments that range from women to kitchenware. New item are added everyday at 11am and 3pm Est. Sign up to receive a $25 credit. You can walk away with free items. I got a pair of children sneakers for free.

2. Ebates:
Ebates allows you to shop your favorite stores (Sephora, Macy's, Wal-Mart) and get cash back on each purchase. You can earn any where from 2% to 9% cash back depending on the store. When you make your first purchase they will mail you a $10 gift card of your choice.

3. Bing Rewards:
Move over Google. rewards their users just for searching online. Each search gets you one step closer to redeeming rewards in the form of gift cards and sweepstakes entries.

4. Swagbucks:
Get paid to take surveys, watch videos and answer polls. Swagbucks can be redeemable for gift cards or Pay Pal pay outs. Also when you shop through Swagbucks you earn cash back as well.

I hope this helps. If you know of any good deal online let me know!

Dress up your Blog with a Custom Blog Header

Recently I was commissioned to create a custom blog header for a new blog author. She had a clear direction that she wanted to go in so this made the process run smoothly. The blog premise will focus on faith, motherhood and fashion. She wanted the look and feel to be chic and classic. Her blog header features a custom illustration of her dressed in a classic black dress, pink apron, pearls and an up do. A custom blog header process will start with me consulting with the client to get a feel of what he/she is looking for. Next I would draw up an initial sketch from there the client has up to three revisions.
